One Spark begins Wednesday

One Spark Image

Beginning this Wednesday at 6 p.m., the Jacksonville Public Education Fund will be a Creator in One Spark, an innovative new event that describes itself as "the world's first crowd funding festival." The ONE in THREE exhibit will be set up in the Main Library downtown from Wednesday evening until Sunday afternoon.

One Spark is a festival that will be going on in downtown Jacksonville April 17-21, and Creators from all over the world will showcase ideas and projects to connect with a $250,000 crowd fund, $1 million in capital investments, and immediate individual contributions, all via live, on-site voting. This is an exciting opportunity for Jacksonville, and the Jacksonville Public Education Fund is proud to be a part of it.

In addition to voting for the ONE by ONE booth - we're creator number 643 - we hope you'll also take part in a mini-crowd funding initiative that we'll be running during One Spark. Vote for your top ONE by ONE Community Agreement priority and we'll donate any One Spark funds received to a project related to the top vote-getter!

How does One Spark work?

One Spark is a crowd funding festival. This means that attendees vote on which projects deserve a chunk of the $250,000 prize!

How can I be a part of One Spark?

First: You must register to vote. Registering is quick and Easy and can be done here: https://www.beonespark.com/voters/new

Next: Venture into the downtown area at any point between 6 p.m. Wednesday and noon Sunday. Without showing up in person and signing in, you will not be able to vote. ONE by ONE will be set up in the entrance of the library. Our volunteers and staff will be there to answer any questions you may have!

Last: VOTE! This is your chance to decide where all the money goes.

Check out a map of One Spark, and all the information at beonespark.com/experience. In addition, our president, Trey Csar, will be live on the pitch deck at 10:30 a.m. in Hemming Plaza on Saturday, April 20.

We look forward to seeing you there!
