At a workshop Monday, March 18, the Duval County School Board made the final tweaks to its draft strategic plan. The plan will be up for adoption at the School Board's April 2 meeting.
The draft version of the strategic plan was closely aligned with three of the four priorities identified in the ONE by ONE Community Agreement. Superintendent Nikolai Vitti and the School Board then hosted a series of feedback sessions with key constituents.
More than 400 community members participated in three public feedback sessions at Fletcher, Lee and Jackson High Schools, and more than 2,500 community members responded to an online survey about the plan.
During its final review meeting, the board made a few key tweaks to the four goals to more closely align the language in those goals with this feedback. The four goals now include:
• Develop Great Educators and Leaders
• Engage Parents, Caregivers and Community
• Develop the Whole Child
• Ensure Effective, Equitable, and Efficient Use of Resources
The plan goes before the School Board's regular meeting on April 2 at 6 p.m.
Please plan to come to the DCPS administration building ( 1701 Prudential Drive) at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday, April 2 to support the School Board as they pass the Strategic Plan at their meeting. It's essential that your voice be heard in this final decision!
