Calling public school teachers, PowerUP Jax $500 grant applications are being accepted now!

8/26/2015

Teachers — do you have innovative ideas, but lack the money to make them a reality? PowerUP Jax can help you get the funding you need to do creative projects in your classroom. In the last two years, PowerUP Jax funding has given students and teachers across Duval County the chance to do everything from investigative sushi experiments to artistic rockets flying up into the blue sky.

Lead sponsor Community First Cares Foundation believes in seeding innovation and rewarding creativity among public school teachers — so they are funding 20 $500 projects!

Here’s what you need to know:

  • PowerUP Jax is now a $500 competitive innovation grant with a Fall and Spring Cycle. Applications are currently being accepted until September 14. Get started now!

  • There will be 10 grant winners each cycle, and all will have a chance to win an extra $150 through the popular “Lightning Round” citizen voting contest.

  • All of the grant winners will be entered into the running for a $1,000 cash prize —the Community First Innovation Prize, presented at the 2016 EDDY Awards Gala and Ceremony on Saturday, March 12, 2016.
