On Wednesday, some of Duval's leading teachers gathered on the 23rd floor of the VyStar Tower for recognition and a little fun.

"I feel like a celebrity," said Charlotte Wintz, one of the semi-finalists.

The top fifteen semi-finalists were treated to drinks and hors d'oeuvres as they watched the sunset over the St. Johns River. VyStar Credit Union, the title sponsor of the 2021 EDDY Awards, generously hosted the event in their beautiful new gathering and creative space at the top of the VyStar Tower - fully outfitted with air hockey, cornhole, and giant Jenga.

"In 2020, every teacher is a Teacher of the Year," said Dr. Greene, as she thanked semi-finalists for their hard work during this difficult time. "If our teachers weren't willing to work in our buildings every day, I don't know who would be there for our children in their education."

VyStar CEO Brian Wolfburg attended, as well as Superintendent Dr. Diana Greene.
