Kori Scott is the 2014 Boys and Girls Clubs of Northeast Florida Youth of the Year

Kori Scott was an ordinary teenager. She did well in school, enjoyed spending quality time with her family, and simply enjoyed life. Then, her family lost their home due to foreclosure and her parents divorced. Overwhelmed, Kori became withdrawn and shy.
Until, she found refuge at the NFL Youth Education Town Boys & Girls Club. "The Club has been a second family to me over the years," she explained. "They have nurtured and guided me to develop leadership skills that I never knew I possessed. The Club has helped me build my confidence by bringing me out of comfort zone."
On February 27, Kori became the 2014 Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Florida Youth of The Year. This is the highest honor a Boys & Girls Club member can receive and recognizes Club members who have demonstrated exemplary character, superior leadership, notable academic achievement and outstanding service to their Club and the community. Kori will graduate from A. Philip Randolph Academies of Technology this June with her Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license and plans to go to Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University to obtain her bachelor's and master's degrees in nursing.
