Wednesday was a great day for ONE by ONE! Today at City Hall, Mayor Alvin Brown added his signature to the hundreds of names pouring in to ratify the ONE by ONE Community Agreement. As seen in the video above, the mayor joined with City Education Commissioner Donnie Horner, Jacksonville Public Education Fund President Trey Csar, and Jacksonville Public Education Fund Community Mobilization Manager Co'Relous Bryant for an official signing ceremony, where the mayor talked about the importance of public education and the need for members of the public to sign the Community Agreement.
The agreement, which you can read here, was created through the voices of approximately 1,700 citizens who participated in 169 ONE by ONE conversations over the last 18 months. There, they voiced the most important priorities for public schools. On January 5, more than 100 delegates from all over the city gathered to put those priorities into words.
