Meet our newest team member, Valerie Mathias

Valerie has joined our organization as Executive Assistant. Valerie grew up moving frequently across the country with her military family, but then settled in Jacksonville to attend the University of North Florida where she graduated in 2011 with a Psychology Degree. She has actively been involved in a variety of organizations in the Jacksonville area centering around education since first coming to the city in 2007. She was a previous mentor with the Jaguars Community Scholars Program, volunteered at Learn to Read, and formerly interned and worked at Girls Inc. of Jacksonville.
In Valerie's words...
I want to be a part of an organization that advances educational awareness and opportunity, and gives each child the chance for equal access to a high standard of education to further their goals in life. I want to be a part of the solution.
I move public education forward by reaching out into the community assisting and working hands-on with those who may need the most help.

I love to travel and experience new cultures! I also enjoy any sort of outside activity.
