Nikolai Vitti is the next Duval Schools Superintendent

9/25/2012

Earlier this evening, the Duval County School Board voted to select Dr. Nikolai Vitti as their choice for the next Superintendent of Duval County Public Schools.

The Jacksonville Public Education Fund congratulates Dr. Vitti! At JPEF, we are excited about his collaborative outlook and commitment to raising student achievement. In addition, we commend the Duval County School Board for an exhaustive and inclusive process that ensured that they had three very high-quality finalists from which to choose.
Dr. Vitti, who is currently Chief Academic Officer of Miami-Dade County Public Schools, was chosen after two days of interviews with three finalists, including Dr. Kriner Cash and Dale Robbins. In the days and weeks to come, the school board will negotiate a contract with Dr. Vitti and set a start date. Prior to becoming Chief Academic Officer, he was in charge of Miami-Dade's turnaround schools, which have made significant improvements.
