PowerUP Jax grants support and empower our best educators

9/2/2016

The most important in-school factor in the quality of a student’s education is the quality of the teacher in the classroom. We believe that a key priority in public schools should be to support and empower the best teachers and leaders. That is why lead sponsor Community First Cares Foundation is funding 20 projects this fall through PowerUP Jax grants!

These 20 winners will each be awarded a $500 grant to implement their creative projects, and will be entered into a Lightning Round where one out of the 20 winners will have to opportunity to win an additional $150 toward their project.

All of the grant winners will also be entered into the running for the $1,000 Community First Innovation Prize. The teacher that submits the most innovative project proposal to PowerUP Jax will receive the Innovation Prize award to use any way that teacher desires. The Community First Innovation Prize winner will be honored at the annual Florida Blue Teacher of the Year EDDY’s award gala in February.

PowerUP Jax is only for the creative and innovative educators in Duval County Public Schools. If you know a passionate educator or are a teacher with a passion for your subject and an engaging idea to help your students improve, apply today.
