This morning, the Florida Department of Education released the School Grades for all public high schools - and the news is exciting!

Many high schools improved their grades, but especially three schools that have been the focus for intervention efforts locally. Ribault High School earned an A grade! Andrew Jackson High, which had an F last year, jumped to a B, and Raines High climbed to a C.

District Data School Grades 2012

All high schools earned an A, B or C grade this year, an increase from last year, and almost all schools increased or maintained their letter grade.

At a press conference today, Duval County Public Schools gathered to celebrate, according to a release from the district.

"I want to congratulate our high school principals, teachers, support staff, students, parents, and partners on their outstanding improvement. I am especially proud of the work at Andrew Jackson and other traditionally lower-performing schools. Our work now rests on sustaining and accelerating the improvement into the future," said Duval County Public Schools Superintendent Nikolai Vitti. "The enhanced focus on these schools by the former School Board and Superintendent helped to ensure the progress that we see today. We must continue this path of progress to ensure that all of our schools are 'A' schools."
