New initiative aims to listen to and activate public school students

The Jacksonville Public Education Fund, in collaboration with several local organizations, is assembling a group of dynamic and driven Duval County youth to speak on their current experience as public school students and personal definitions of success. Read on to learn more about the initiative, called ONE by ONE: Student Voice, which will kick off with a community meeting taking place in three different regions around the city. Participants will have the opportunity to listen directly to students, then work with them in small groups to take action.

Five finalists announced for 2016 Florida Blue Duval County Teacher of the Year

Five exceptional public school educators today were named finalists for the 2016 Florida Blue Duval County Teacher of the Year.

The finalists were selected by a committee of educators, community members and business leaders from a preliminary round of semi-finalists. All five will be on stage at the 25th Anniversary EDDY Awards on Saturday, March 12, where one will be named 2016 Florida Blue Duval County Teacher of the Year.
