Become a ONE by ONE Public Ed Ambassador

What is a Public Ed Ambassador?

Public schools belong to our community. Public Ed Ambassadors are Jacksonville Public Education Fund’s elite volunteer corps members. By serving with Jacksonville Public Education Fund, you will help:

  • Share stories that highlight the impact teachers are having each and every day.
  • Support events to elevate excellent teachers!
  • Gather input for education research on teacher and school leader quality and parent and caregiver engagement.
  • Build community partnerships and lifelong relationships!

Public Ed Ambassadors will activate neighborhood voices to inform, advocate for and support excellent teachers, school leaders and school culture.

Who is an ideal Public Ed Ambassador?

Public Ed Ambassador can be a high school senior, university student, young professional, parent, or community member/leader. Ideally, Ambassadors should possess strong research, writing or community engagement skills.

Kiersten Washell
I believe strongly that those of us in the field of Education are in the "Relationship Business" and must work smarter to link research to policy to practice... I am passionate about the development of pathways for nurturing the “whole student” via services that could be gleamed from the partnering work of advocates and community members (ex. student mentors, credited apprenticeships, community service, and opportunities for the development of democratic principles in a real-world environment).

Danela Olivero
Volunteering several times for the Student Voice conversations were a really rewarding experience...I believe that this role will give me the opportunity to expand on an idea I have brought upon on a recent meeting to being able to incorporate different language meetings into schools to provide non-speaking English parents the opportunity to be involved in their children's schools and stay up to date.
