Dr. Shameka Brown

Dr. Shameka J. Brown is an educational leader, author, and advocate with 18 years of experience in Duval County Public Schools, serving as a teacher, reading coach, reading interventionist, assistant principal, principal, region specialist, and Supervisor of District-based Staffing. She is the author of More Than a Table: Steps to Redesign Your Life and co-author of The Women of Bravery: Balancing the Scales of Life, Love and Liberation.

Dr. Brown brings a strong commitment to educator development, instructional excellence, and quality education for successful student outcomes. She is deeply involved in community service, supporting youth and young professional women through the Level the Playing Field Leadership Academy, The Legacy League Inc., Delta Kappa Gamma International Women Society, and as a tenured member and Associate of the Jacksonville Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. 

She now serves as the Director of Strategic Initiatives at the Jacksonville Public Education Fund, where her work continues to center on empowering students, educators, and school leaders across Duval County.
