On Friday, October 9, more than 300 middle and high school students gathered at the Legends Center on the Northside to hear testimonies related to youth interaction with law enforcement. Students were curious about what goes through the minds of officers that have to make arrests in their own communities.

RECAP: ONE by ONE Public Education Forum on school grades and boundary changes

On October 19, more than 130 participants gathered for the ONE by ONE Public Education Forum to discuss changes to school grades and the district’s proposed boundary changes. A few newer attendees were amazed that we could draw such a large and diverse crowd and facilitate a discussion that was both informative and engaging.

Chat with the Supe, another opportunity for community engagement

“Chats with the Supe” is a new initiative of the school district to engage in an informal conversation with our Duval County Public Schools Superintendent. With Dr. Nikolai Vitti approaching his three year anniversary on the job in November, these informal conversations are an opportunity for the general public and those who support public education to discuss key issues.
