This evening, we were thrilled to welcome more than 130 community members to our ONE by ONE Public Education Forum: New Shifts, One Vision.
They gathered to hear from Superintendent Vitti, parent, student and teacher leaders, and then engage in table discussions about next steps and action items.
We'll be posting the full notes from all 12 table conversations soon, but in the meantime, we wanted to make sure you had access to all of the information that was distributed. See below for some immediate action items and downloadable flyers.
- Delegates were urged to contact their lawmakers in Tallahassee to make their views known on pausing school grades for the 2014-15 school year. Go here to look up your legislator and get a template for writing an email or letter.
- A downloadable one-page summary (PDF) and advocacy guide on the proposed program and boundary changes under discussion by Duval County Public Schools.
- A downloadable one-page Frequently Asked Questions and reference sheet (PDF) for parents about the Florida Standards.
- A downloadable advocacy guide (PDF) for parents and citizens to take action on standards and accountability.
