August 24 — start your child's school year off strong

8/17/2015

Duval County Public Schools’ “Public Education Strong” campaign continues to gain national attention.

This summer, the district’s communications team was recognized for their Public Education Strong campaign. We’re proud of the amazing teachers, principals, students and parents that continue to share why public education matters in our community. At the Council of the Great City Schools (CGCS) Public Relations Executives Meeting, Marsha Oliver, Assistant Superintendent of Communications, and Mark Sherwood, Director of Marketing, were presented the award-winning campaign to communications professionals from around the country.

This is the second Bronze Telly and fourth Medallion Award for the communications team in the last two years.

August 24 is the first day of school for our local teachers and students. We’d love to hear how you’re planning to start the school year off strong with your child.

Personally, my son and I are going to walk to his elementary school together the first week! Last year, we walked together as a family for his first day of kindergarten which was special and memorable for all of us.
