My name is Christian and I am working with JPEF this summer as a Policy Intern. I am a Political Science and Sociology Double Major at Howard University in Washington D.C. I am a graduate of Stanton College Preparatory School here in Jacksonville!

The Duval County School Board today selected former deputy superintendent Dr. Patricia S. Willis to serve as interim superintendent by a 6-0 vote.

Patricia Willis, a 35-year educator and Jacksonville native, will lead the district after Superintendent Dr. Nikolai Vitti leaves Sunday to run Detroit Public Schools. Dr. Willis served as former principal of Matthew Gilbert Middle School and Susie E. Tolbert Elementary. Since retiring, Dr. Willis has started PSW Consulting LLC, an education consulting firm working with districts throughout Florida and Georgia.

We at the Jacksonville Public Education Fund look forward to working with Dr. Willis, and hope that with her extensive education background and experience within our district, she will offer much-needed continuity to keep the district moving in a positive direction.
