Gearing up for the P.E.P. Rally for Excellence

5/20/2015

I’m excited about the upcoming Duval County Public Schools’ annual Public Education Partners (P.E.P.) Rally for Excellence on May 30. For the past few years, the Jacksonville Public Education Fund has partnered with the district on this community-wide effort to celebrate public education, teachers and our city’s students. More than 5,000 community members, parents, teachers and students are expected to attend this year’s event.

Why you should attend?

The P.E.P. Rally for Excellence will include a SPIRIT 5K stadium run, 1 mile fun run, reading celebration along with local celebrity readers, student recognition and performances. What’s even more exciting is that all those in attendance will be able to gain more knowledge and resources by exploring the Vendor Expo! The Jacksonville Public Education Fund is proud to be an event sponsor and will have a vendor booth with a very special surprise for those who stop by.

Why I’m attending

Along with a couple of JPEF staff members, I’ll be running in the SPIRIT 5K stadium run. It’s my first 5K and I’ve started preparing with a weekly run. I’m also excited about interacting with the students, teachers and community members.

The P.E.P. Rally for Excellence is a great opportunity for you to show your support of our local public schools, teachers and students. You can learn more and register for one of the runs by visiting www.duvalschools.org.
