JPEF Statement on Superintendent Ed Pratt-Dannals

2/25/2012
On Friday, the Duval County School Board and Superintendent Ed Pratt-Dannals announced that the superintendent's contract would be allowed to expire in December and that the Superintendent would retire at that time.
The Jacksonville Public Education Fund thanks Ed Pratt-Dannals for his 36 years of service to Duval County Public Schools. Please see the below statement that we released to the media and community earlier today.
----
We are grateful to Ed Pratt-Dannals for his dedication to the children, teachers, parents and community in Duval County.
In his many different capacities with the Duval County Public Schools - teacher, principal, administrator, and parent of public school children - Ed has been a consummate educator, leader, and steady hand, particularly during recent difficult budget years.
The Duval County School Board now faces a difficult task - addressing the many urgent issues facing our schools while also seeking a new leader with a bold vision for preparing our students for the future.
We hope the community will join us in thanking Ed Pratt-Dannals for his service and help the School Board in their search by making their voices heard.
