October 19 — Register for our upcoming ONE by ONE Public Education Forum on school grades and FSAs

10/7/2015

It's hard to believe that the school year is in full swing. This fall is flying by! And this year is set to be busier than ever because of some important shifts that our schools are making to meet the challenge of preparing every student for college and the workforce.

Our school system is a lot like a house under renovation: We need to polish what's already good, and to find high quality parts for what needs to be replaced. That's where you come in: We need genuine, open and expansive conversations about how the renovation of our district can be most successful.

That's why we hope you'll attend the next ONE by ONE Public Education Forum: New Shifts, One Vision. The event takes place on Monday, October 19, right here at the Jessie Ball duPont Center in downtown Jacksonville. Doors open with refreshments at 5:30 p.m., program is 6-8 p.m. Register online at jaxpef.org.

Learn about key changes under way in our schools and help our community be empowered to join you in taking action. What successes and challenges do our public schools face this year? From implementing higher standards and adjusting to new school grades to talking about changes to school programs and boundaries, community members have a lot to talk about.
