Free Pecha Kucha event will explore the question, "What makes a great teacher?"

If someone asked you what makes an educator outstanding, what would your answer be? Perhaps something along the lines of, "someone who cares"? The reality is that it's so much more than that.
That's why we're so thrilled to partner with PB&J Jacksonville to present an evening of high-energy speakers on this topic. These fun events, called Pecha Kucha nights, have tackled topics from human rights to the role of art in our community.
This fun and free event will take place here at the Jessie Ball duPont Center in the second floor lecture hall, with a happy hour reception starting at 6 p.m., followed by the presentations at 7 p.m. The presentations follow a fast-paced and exciting format, with speakers getting 20 slides and just 20 seconds per slide. Interspersed will be opportunities for the audience to participate!
You'll hear from passionate advocates for public education with a wide variety of perspectives and answers to the question of what makes a great teacher. Come to be inspired and energized by students, teachers and advocates — and share your own memories of a teacher who made the difference for you.

- Gregory Hill, student at Ribault High School
- Trey Csar, Jacksonville Public Education Fund
