Scott Shine wins District 2 School Board race

The race for the District 2 seat on the Duval County School Board was settled last night with the election of Scott Shine. He defeated Sam Hall with 57.7 percent of the vote in the runoff election.
Shine, a former City of Jacksonville Ethics Commissioner and business executive, told the Times-Union last night he plans to start his term focusing on supporting and retaining great teachers. You can find his full bio and questionnaire responses at schoolboard2014.org.
