Teacher of the Year Process

Congratulations on your selection as Teacher of the Year for your school! We hope you will continue the Teacher of the Year process by applying to be the 2026 VyStar Duval County Teacher of the Year.

The process involves completing an application, uploading your resume, and letters of recommendation. Your application then goes to area selection committees that select 15 semifinalists to move forward. The semifinalists are announced on News4Jax in November.

The five finalists will be announced on Dec. 12, and then the 2026 VyStar Duval County Teacher of the Year will be announced on Saturday, January 24, 2026!

We encourage you to reserve your spot for the EDDY Awards early. Tickets will be available as early as Oct. 16 at the Teacher of the Year Opening Celebration.
